FAQs

1. Who can avail cover under Digit On-The-Move Group Policy.?

Any Indian domestic passenger travelling within India can avail cover under Digit On-The-Move Group Policy , while booking their flights on Akasa Air. Foreign passengers holding passports of any other country other than India can avail cover if they have FRRO, PIO or OCI Card and are travelling within India. (In the case of foreign passengers Person must have Indian bank account).

2. Is there an age limit to be covered under Domestic Travel Protection?

Yes, the passenger must be below the age of 70 years as on date of travel.

3. Can I avail cover under policy if I am Travelling for more than 60 days?

No, policy covers the passenger/s for a period of 30 days from the date of inception of policy which is the date of commencement of journey after booking their tickets on Akasa. In case of a round trip purchased on Akasa the coverage will end with the return journey to the originating airport or 60 days whichever is earlier.

1. Who would be the beneficiary of policy?

Benefits will be paid to the Insured Person's bona fide legal heir in the event of loss of life under the accident death and dismemberment benefit. All other benefits will be payable to the Insured Person.

Coverage Product Description
Emergency Accidental Treatment and Evacuation Covers hospitalization expenses incurred due to accidental bodily injury
Repatriation of Remains Repatriation of mortal remains to Customer's place of residence, in case of death
Out-Patient Expenses for Injuries OPD treatment covered up to 10% of Emergency Accidental Sum Insured
Personal Accident Pays the benefit amount in case of Accidental Death, PTD or PPD during the trip
Accidental Death and Disability Pays the benefit amount in case of Accidental Death, PTD or PPD during the trip while in a common carrier (Flight/ Air Travel)
Trip Cancellation* If the Customer cancels the trip due to any of the listed reasons, then we will reimburse the non-refundable expenses incurred towards the trip (including excursions and planned events)
Common Carrier Delay Pays the benefit amount if the Flight gets delayed by more than 150 Mins.
(Flight Delay) Proactive claims - Digit informs customers that the Flight is delayed and triggers a link for uploading boarding pass
  Document/ confirmation from Airline is not required
Delay of Checked In Baggage Pays the benefit amount if the Checked In Baggage gets delayed by more than 6 hours.
  Only confirmation from Airline is required (receipts/ bills of purchase are not required)
Total Loss of Checked In Baggage Pays the benefit amount if the Checked In Baggage gets lost.
  Only Baggage loss certificate from Airline is required (invoice/ list of items and value are not required)
Missed Connection Reimburses the expenses incurred towards extra accommodation/ travel to reach the destination because the pre-booked onward connection was delayed due to listed reasons
Trip Abandonment If the trip has to be abandoned due to listed reasons, then we will reimburse the additional travel/ accommodation expenses incurred or unused accommodation cost that is non-refundable (including excursions and planned events)
Personal Liability Covers the money which has to be legally paid by the customer to any third party because of an accident (due to the negligence of the Customer) resulting in death or damage to property
Emergency Trip Extension If the return journey gets delayed due to listed reasons, then we will reimburse the additional travel (return fare)/ accommodation expenses incurred

 

*Exclusion - Advisory issued by government not to travel, Compulsory quarantine or prevention of travel by Government of India.

 

4. If I meet with an accident during the trip for how long will the medical treatment be available?

If you meet with an accident during the trip, travel Insurance provides for medical expenses necessarily incurred for treatment up to its validity i.e., end date appearing on domestic travel cover return to originating city whichever is earlier.

5. Does policy cover sports and other similar activities?

No, Policy does not cover sports and similar activities. For more details, please refer to the terms and conditions.

6. Can I cancel my trip for any reason and get all my money back through my Trip Cancellation cover?

The Trip Cancellation Benefit is only applicable for reasons covered in the full terms and conditions. Few of the covered reasons include, illness, injury requiring 24 hrs Hospitalisation or death involving you, your immediate family member. Pre-existing Conditions are not covered.

7. Does travel Insurance cover pre-existing conditions?

No travel Insurance does not cover any pre-existing conditions or complications arising there from.

Claims will be processed within 15 working days after you have submitted all required documentation.

3. What is the time limit for submitting a claim?

All claims must be submitted to Go Digit General Insurance within 15 days from the expiry of the policy.

Premium is non-refundable.

Date cannot be changed once issued even if you are postponing.
