A sudden sickness or accident may disrupt your travel plan. We at Akasa Air understand and empathise with our flyers in such circumstances and offer Flexi Cover - cancellation or amendment cover. 

 

The Flexi Cover - cancellation or amendment cover helps you get a refund on your flight booking  in case you are unable to travel.  Flight can be cancelled or amended up to 24 hrs prior departure and claim up to Rs. 3000 towards the airline penalty. You can buy Flexi Cover, applicable on domestic flights and for Indian citizens only, offered by GoDigit as per applicable terms and conditions.

Eligibility


Customer is eligible for Flexi Cover in case you are unable to travel.  Flight can be canceled or amended up to 24 hrs prior departure and claim up to Rs. 3000 towards the airline penalty. You can buy Flexi Cover, offered by GoDigit as per applicable terms and conditions. In case of medical reasons, the passenger must furnish a valid medical certificate along with the duly filled refund application form.

 

How to apply for a refund under Flexi Cover

  • Cancel or amend your flight with the help of an Akasa customer care representative or on the Akasa website or mobile app.

  • You must cancel or amend at least 24 hrs prior departure  to be eligible for claim.

  • You can claim cancellation cover by contacting our support staff at travelclaims@godigit.com or 1800-103-4448 The medical certificate must include the details of sickness or accident. In case of cancellation because of death, an official certificate needs to be furnished to be eligible for a refund.

  • Once all formalities are completed, GoDigit representative will contact you. 

  • Amount collected for this service is non-refundable.

 

Note: Your medical information is confidential, and we will handle it with adequate care. We will destroy the submitted documents after the claim handling process ends. We do this to protect your privacy.

 

Flexi  Cover terms and conditions

  • If you wish to buy a Flexi Cover, you must do that at the time of booking. You cannot buy post booking.

  • If third-party insurance, employer or anyone else is covering the cancelled trip, cancellation cover will allow a refund.
  • You must file the refund claim within 3 months of the departure date in case of sickness or accident. In case of death, one of the family members must file the refund claim within 6 months of departure.

 

Flexi Cover FAQs

  1. I did not travel on my scheduled flight. Can I produce my medical documents now to get a refund

    Flexi cover is applicable only if you cancel your ticket up to 24 hrs prior to your flight departure and cover the terms and conditions specified for Flexi cover. 

  2. Can I cancel my return flight after taking the departure flight from my source location?

    Yes, you can cancel your return flight however, up to 24 hrs priority to flight departure.

  3. Is the booking amount fully refundable under the Flexi cover?

    You can claim up to Rs.3,000 which airline charges as penalty for flight cancellation or amendment.

  4. How can I claim cancellation cover on my cancelled booking? 

    You can claim cancellation cover by contacting our support staff at travelclaims@godigit.com or 1800-103-4448.
