You can pre-purchase additional baggage allowance online up to two hours before your flight departs and enjoy discounted rates. That way you’ll save money and time for a faster and smoother check-in at the airport.

Checked-in Baggage allowance to US / Canada:

●      Akasa Air allows free checked-in baggage up to 2 (two) pieces each weighing not more than 23 kgs per person for flights operating to US markets under codeshare arrangement. In case, such single (1) piece weighs above 23 kg per person, Akasa Air will levy Excess Baggage charges as set out above.

●     In case a passenger wishes to travel with more than 2 (two) pieces of checked-in baggage, Akasa Air will levy an additional piece charge as specified above, which includes a baggage allowance of 23 kgs. If any additional piece weighs more than 23 kgs per person, Akasa Air will levy excess baggage charges as specified above.

●      Akasa Air does not permit any single (1) piece of checked-in baggage weighing more than 32 kg. To carry any such baggage, additional piece charges along with excess baggage will be levied as above.

• Both additional bags and sports equipment do not include any complimentary baggage allowance.  
• For example, on a domestic flight you have two bags, one weighing 15kgs and the second weighing 9kgs. The first bag will be covered under your free baggage allowance; for the second bag, you will be charged for an additional piece of baggage, as well as for 9kgs of excess baggage. 
• The rate will be converted based on the applicable exchange rate for passengers paying in local currency.
• A handling fee is levied per sports equipment. The weight of such sports equipment will count towards the calculation of a passenger’s permissible baggage allowance and standard excess baggage charges, if applicable, will be levied over and above the handling fees.
• Passengers booking Akasa Air flights have the option to pre-pay handling fees for up to two (2) items of sports equipment (including, skiing equipment, golf bags, bicycles, surf boards, snow boards, water skis and scuba diving equipment) per passenger per journey online. The Service is non-refundable, non-cancellable and non-transferable. The fees will be refunded only in case of cancellation of the flight booking for the passenger against whose name such service has been purchased, or cancellation of the entire flight booking by the passenger, or the flight being cancelled by Akasa.

Additional information: 

Passengers are permitted to carry up to five (5) litres of Holy Water (including Zamzam water) as checked-in baggage, provided it is properly packed in a sealed and leak- proof container. This will form part of the applicable checked-in baggage allowance made available to the passengers for their flights. 

• Eligible passengers who have purchased student fare can carry one piece / bag up to 25 kg on domestic flights only.
• Pre-booked Excess Baggage is non-transferable and needs to be purchased for each sector separately.
• Any modification/cancellation to the pre-purchased Excess Baggage is not allowed once purchased.
• Once pre-booked, this service can only be cancelled along with the cancellation of your flight booking.
• This service will be refunded for fully or partially cancelled bookings. 
• In case of a date change, this service will be transferred to the new booking.
• No refund will be provided in case of no show/gate no show or for passengers who do not avail of this service in spite of purchasing excess baggage. 
• For the avoidance of doubt, the aforementioned charges shall be subject to any additional service fees/charges that may be payable by the passengers in case they request for an add-on service at an international airport.

Information on Excess Baggage on International Connecting Flight: 

Applicable only for passengers connecting to/from Akasa Air with other airlines. Domestic flights must be within 48 hours of the international flight. 

• Pre-booking is available via our website, mobile app, or 24/7 Akasa Care Centre; not at the airport. 
• Pre-purchase at our 24/7 Akasa Care Centre: +91 9606 11 21 31. 
• Additional baggage charges apply beyond excess baggage fees for international connections. 
• Passengers must present relevant international travel documents at check-in; failure to do so will result in excess baggage charges per airport rates. 
• Akasa Air's decision on disputes regarding excess baggage is final.
