Company Statement
September 19, 2023: A pet owner, along with two other fellow passengers, had to be offloaded from our flight QP1358 operating from Goa to Delhi on September 16, 2023, prior to departure, for not adhering to established safety protocols. This is the second incident of a similar nature by the same pet owner, who in spite of briefing and multiple requests by our crew members refused to comply in ensuring that the pet was properly secured in the pet container in the cabin. Keeping the pet in the open, inside the cabin is against Akasa Air’s established pet carriage policy as well as established safety protocols. In both instances, fellow passengers who were witness to these untoward situations reported their discomfort regarding this non-compliant behaviour.
Our crew and ground staff tried their best to explain the guidelines and then followed all applicable protocols in light of this uncooperative and aggressive passenger behaviour, especially as it concerns the safety of everyone onboard. Akasa Air’s pet carriage policy has been carefully designed in keeping with industry guidelines and in collaboration with leading experts. We are committed to ensure an inclusive travel experience and our utmost priority is the safety of the pet, passengers as well as our crew members.
